Romanian UnderDogs support the dogs in Brasov, Romania who will never get the chance to be re-homed in other parts of Europe.

Our dogs are generally older, disabled, have health issues, past injuries, are deemed ugly (but obviously they are beautiful to us), too large, wrong colour, shy or just need a little extra TLC.

The stories of each of these dogs are extremely tragic and unless they find a home in the UK, they will spend the rest of their days in the shelter surviving in very difficult conditions. The organisation that we support is ran by Cristina Lapis. She and her team do an amazing job caring for these animals, but conditions in Romania cannot be compared to those in Western Europe. Moreover, a dog needs one-on-one attention, space, walks and lots of love - none of these things are being provided at the moment due to sheer numbers at the shelter. The center cares for over 600 dogs at anyone time.

Those dogs however have proved to be looking for nothing but love. They are extremely resilient, mostly healthy (except the usual age related ailments with the older girls and boys) and extraordinarily beautiful due to their mixed heritage. They are so grateful for a chance to live a normal life and bring great joy to all of those who have adopted them.

We work with the Cristina Lapis Foundation and our rescue partners, Oakwood Canine Services, Ruff Luck and Wonky Pets Rescue to re-home these dogs for life in the UK.

We are only a small team and would welcome any support we can get - anything from fundraisers willing to raise money for the project, to perhaps people willing to help by donating their precious time to our partners, right though to veterinary staff and practises who may be willing to donate their skills and offer treatment and medication at a reduced rate. Please get in touch if you’d like to discuss any idea.

Thank you for caring enough to visit our site and read about our work. And remember if you can’t help us and our dogs yourself right now - you can help us by passing our details to people that you know maybe could!
